From the Galleria degli Uffizi: Reduced scale reproduction of Michelangelo Buonarroti's David, sculpted in Florence between 1501 and 1504. Handcrafted product made in Tuscany in white resin and marble dust. The original statue is kept in the Accademia Gallery.

It was 1501 when Michelangelo began to work on the huge block of marble, commissioned by the Arte della Lana and the Opera del Duomo in Florence. Already two artists, Agostino di Duccio and Rossellino, sketched it and gave up because of the quality of the marble. This constraint did not prevent the young Michelangelo from creating one of the most sensational sculptures in the history of art.

The David is immediately recognized as a masterpiece. Its original destination, deemed unsuitable to allow a good view, is discarded and the authorities set up a commission of experts, including Leonardo, Botticelli and Perugino, to decide on the new location which is finally chosen at the entrance to Palazzo Vecchio. . Facing the center of city power, and in the heart of Florence.
