From Curator Socks: Botticelli's "Primavera" is a celebration of Spring, an ode to fertility and freedom, as well as desire and unrequited feelings, and how transforming these are. Painted in the late 1470's, its origin is as mysterious as its history, although it is, without a shred of a doubt, one of the defining pieces of Italian Renaissance, and one of the most famous paintings in the world. Made in Portugal using 200 needles and the most advanced craftsmanship, to produce some of the finest seamless socks on the market.
Sandro Botticelli created "Primavera" in late 1470s or early 1480s. Tempera on panel, 202 × 314 cm. Housed in the Uffizi Gallery, in Florence, Italy.
