The Store at Mia - Minneapolis Institute of Art

Authentically made Native American- Ojibwe. Tom is a St. Croix Tribal member and Mel is a Lac Courte Orielles tribal member; both out of Wisconsin. Made with birchbark, porcupine quill, leather, wood, buckskin, and other natural materials. Asemaa (tobacco) has been offered for all the material we use and take from the Earth. Birchbark is harvested using old-style techniques past down generations as to not harm the birch tree. Tobacco offering and methods help to ensure items are made in a good way.
